Registrars at Skerryvore PracticeWe have been recognised as a Training Practice since 1989. Dr Craighead and Dr Stevenson are now qualified as GP trainers. A GP Registrar is a qualified doctor (General Practice Registrar) that joins the practice for further general practice training for a period of up to one year. Several of our previous registars have continued to be partners in the practice. The receptionists will let you know when you are given an appointment with the GP registar. As part of training, we sometimes videotape consultations. This only happens with written consent. To ensure we continue to meet the high standards required of training practices, we are assessed regularly by doctors from the Grampian GP Training and Education Committee. This involves inspection of some medical records. Confidentiality is guaranteed in this as in all aspects of practice work.
