Patient Travel

Patients who need to travel off Island for a hospital appointment only need to pay the first £10 of their travel costs. Patients have the choice of travelling by air or sea.

Patients may in certain circumstances be entitled to have someone travel with them as an escort but this will be at the GPs discretion.

Patients who are not entitlted to have an escort but who would wish to have someone attend with them can obtain a reduced air fare. A letter confirming their eligibility can be obtained by phoning the practice which will entitle them to receive this.
