Skerryvore Practice has taken an active lead in developing Information Technology within the practice to enhance patient care.

Skerryvore Practice was sponsored by the Scottish Executive as an IT Demonstration practice. This involved holding Open Days to demonstrate our use of IT to other practices (1998-2002).

2nd Opinion software to produce specialist referral letters using the GPASS database was developed by Dr Peter Fay and was adopted by GPASS who assumed ownership of the software.

Skerryvore Practice has used paper-light complete electronic records since 2006.

Skerryvore Software Ltd is run by Dr Peter Fay producing software for the medical profession: A General Practice Library - a library database program designed specifically for GP practices involved in training and Next Patient Please - Patient Call System
