Information for Skerryvore Patients
The Facts
- Protects against approximately 70% true flu infections.
- Does not protect against the common cold.
- Does not cause flu or other infections.
- Should not be given to people who have a severe egg
allergy.
- Reactions to the vaccine are uncommon.
Who's the
Flu Vaccine For?
If , whatever your age, you . . .
- have a serious heart condition
- have chest disease (including asthma requiring inhaled or oral steroids)
- have serious kidney or liver disease
- have Diabetes Mellitus
- have Immunosuppression (including that due to medical
treatment)
- lowered immunity due to disease or treatment (e.g. cancer treatment or
long term steroid use)
- splenectomy
- neurological conditions (such as Stroke or MS)
- or in a residential home
- or are over 65 years
- or are the main carer for an older or disabled person
THEN Flu vaccine is recommended for you
